The Acadia Parish Police Jury would like to clarify an ordinance and policy regarding bulk waste collection within the parish.

  • The parish DOES provide for bulky waste, yard waste, owner generated construction and demolition waste, and tree waste. The owner/occupant must schedule that collection with the Acadia Parish Solid Waste Landfill department. Guidelines for proper disposal must be followed and those can be obtained from the Solid Waste Landfill department as well. Individuals can contact the Landfill at 337-783-4834.
  • The parish DOES NOT arrange for special collection of everyday garbage and waste that can fit into trash bins and picked up during weekly waste collection.
  • The parish DOES NOT collect putrescible solid waste (food waste and dead animals). They must be placed in trash bins for regular weekly waste collection.
  • The parish DOES NOT collect construction and demolition waste and tree waste as a result of residential/commercial construction, remodeling, demolition and/or tree removal/trimming that has been arranged with private contractors.

If you have any further questions regarding items that are included in bulk waste collection, contact the Acadia Parish Solid Waste Landfill office at 337-783-4834.
