The
Personnel Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met in public
session at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2002, in the
Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley.
It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in
this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Personnel
Committee and are to be presented as agenda items. Motion carried.

Road Manager Robert Bergeaux presented the health situation of two
employees. Mr. George Pousson, having been diagnosed with a serious
illness is currently undergoing specialized medical treatment that
would require his absence for extended periods of time.
Committee recommended the prescribed extended leave of 60 days and
an evaluation near the end of that period.
Mr. Bergeaux also announced that Mr. Larry Gotte was under special
medical care due to a serious lung condition.
No action was offered.

Road & Bridge Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met in
public session following the Personnel Committee on Wednesday,
January 23, 2002, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting
Room, Crowley.

this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Road & Bridge
Committee and are to be presented as agenda items. Motion carried.

The Committee agreed to add the following items to the agenda: Lois
Lane and vehicle purchase.
Engineer Karl Aucoin presented specifications on signs that would be
required if a road would be under construction. The Committee
reviewed the presentation and discussed the conditions related to
road closures during pipeline installations.
The Committee recommends authorizing the Road Manager to improve the
Parish’s stock of necessary signs and barricades to adequately warn
of road closures and obstacles and require language under special
conditions giving notice of the availability of signs.
Ms. Paula Higginbotham requested the Committee consider abandoning
any interest in Lois Lane near Church Point.
The matter was referred to Legal Counsel for review.
The Committee recommended awarding low bid to Lamarque Ford for the
purchase of one new ½ ton extended quad cab pickup truck.
