The Personnel Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met in public session at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 5, 2004, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley.

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Personnel Committee and are to be presented as agenda items. Motion carried.

A motion was offered by Mr. Alton Stevenson, seconded by Mr. A. J. Broussard, to adjourn into executive session to consider possible disciplinary action relative to a Parish employee. Professional competence or character may be discussed. The following roll call vote was cast: Yeas: Cade Benoit, Alton Stevenson and A. J. Broussard. Nays: None. Motion carried.

Following executive session the Chairman reconvened the meeting.

The Committee recommended leave with pay til a final decision was made relative to the employment status of Mr. Herbert Lyons.

The Committee also recommended the termination of Mr. Herbert Lyons as a result of violating employment policies.

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COMMITTEE, THE CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMITTEE MEETING.
