The Committee considered applicants to fill vacancies in the Road
Maintenance Divisions of Iota, Crowley and Branch.
Mr. John Quebodeaux, Director of Operations, presented the results
of the independent scoring from interviews that were held September
27th and October 4th. The Committee recommended hiring Mr. Donald
Joseph Breaux II, as a Maintenance Tech Level D starting pay of
$7.00 per hour to work in the Crowley Division.
The Committee recommended hiring Mr. Jonathan W. Simon as a
Maintenance Tech Level D in Iota at a starting pay of $7.00 per
hour.
The Committee recommended hiring Mr. Charles A. Labbe as a
Maintenance Tech Level D in the Branch Division at a starting pay of
$7.00 per hour.
The Committee recommended hiring Mr. John W. Lawson as a Maintenance
Tech Level D in Branch with emphasis on driving trucks at a starting
pay of $7.50 per hour.
Although the Operations Director presented results of the scoring
and recommended different applicants for the positions, Chairman
Cade Benoit indicated that two applicants possessing CDL licenses
should be considered for the truck driving positions and the other
applicants should be considered for the maintenance tech general
position.
Police Jury President Cecelia Broussard felt that the Personnel
Committee was going against what the Human Resource Committee
results were.
The Committee recommended denying the termination appeal of Mr.
Samuel Jordan, Jr.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COMMITTEE, THE
CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED
COMMITTEE MEETING.
