The Public Works/Road & Bridge Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met in public session at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley.

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Public Works/Road & Bridge Committee and are to be presented as agenda items. Motion carried.

Allocate $5 million bond issue pursuant to Sales Tax District 2 to construct improvements to those roads as defined in the June 2006 revision of Phase III (B) priority list as prepared and amended by Parish Engineers subject and/or due to corrections and/or omissions.

Amend Speed Limit on Trumps from 45 mph to 25 mph.

Approve of Emergency Work for month of May at a cost of $100.00 for vehicle usage and $384.07 for labor for a total cost of $484.07.

Approve Drainage Projects 2006-9 Ed Thibodeaux Road at a cost of $527.40 and 2006-10 Fournerat Road at a cost of $493.75 for a total cost of $1,021.15.

The Personnel Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met immediately following the Public Works/Road & Bridge Committee Meeting on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley.

Approve Department Head recommendation for reclassification and pay adjustment for the following employees:

     Laris Daigle from Class B to A and increase pay to $10.00 per hour.

     Gilbert Lejeune from Class B to A and increase pay to $10.00 per
     hour.

     Brian Migues from Class B to A and increase pay to $10.00 per hour.

     Tommy Deville from Class D to C and increase pay to $8.50 per hour.

Authorize and direct the President to execute amended Settlement Agreement with DEQ as per legal counsel report.

Consider cost proposal and authorize Parish auditors to perform independent business review to test the reasonableness of request from Allied Waste for a rate increase from $5.11 to $6.74 per service unit per month.

Approve payment of bills for month of May, 2006

Approve funding allocation to supplement the needs of the Acadiana Criminalistic Lab, less the outside contributions from other sources, at an additional cost of $15,000.00 to $20,000.00.

Authorize an audit by Broussard, Poché, Lewis and Breaux of the Acadia Parish Criminal Court division.
