The Public Works Road and Bridge Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at 6:30 PM, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley.

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Public Works Roads and Bridges Committee and are to be presented as agenda items.  Motion carried. 

PUBLIC WORKS ROADS AND BRIDGES COMMITTEE

     1.  The Committee revised the agenda to consider an Auto Repair
          Contract with the Sheriff’s Department.
     2.  The Committee recommended calling for a Public Hearing to hear
          public comment on the partial abandonment of Carolina Road with
          special consideration given for Ms. Leonard’s property.
     3.  The Committee recommended approval of the Emergency Road
          Report for $67.95.
     4.  The Committee recommended granting a permit to Ray Milner to
          open-cut a section of Ray Milner Road to install an irrigation line.
     5.  The Committee recommended exploring further the idea of an auto
          repair agreement with the Sheriff’s Department.
 

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COMMITTEE, THE CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMITTEE MEETING.            


The Finance Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met immediately following the Public Works Roads and Bridges Committee, on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley.

    1.  The Committee recommended bills for payment, Financial
         Statements and Budgets updates be reviewed and presented at
         the regular meeting scheduled for November 21, 2006.

Mr. A. J. Broussard requested that the Secretary-Treasurer, administratively investigate ordinances in neighboring communities regarding alarms.

The Solid Waste Environmental Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met immediately following the Legislative Committee, on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

Mr. Bobby Guidry from Allied Waste presented the members with a spreadsheet which he said reflected the current trend in rate increases. 

Mrs. Jo Cart, Rayne Independent, expressed her concern as to whether the Committee Agenda format met the intent of the Sunshine Law.
