The Finance Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met in public session at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley, LA. 

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Finance Committee and are to be presented as agenda items.  Motion carried

Mr. Jimmie Pellerin was elected chairperson of the Finance Committee by acclamation. 

A motion was offered by Mrs. Cecelia Chamber and seconded by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin to refer payment of bills to the full jury.

The Mosquito Control Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE INSURANCE COMMITTEE in public session at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley, LA. 

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Mosquito Control Committee and are to be presented as agenda items.  Motion carried

The Personnel Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE MOSQUITO CONTROL COMMITTEE in public session at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley, LA. 

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Personnel Committee and are to be presented as agenda items. Motion carried.

PERSONNEL COMMITTEE

Mrs. Cecelia Chambers was elected chairperson of the Personnel Committee by acclamation. 

A motion was offered by Mr. Al Stevenson and seconded by Mrs. Cecelia Chambers to hire Justin Savoy as a landfill employee at $9.00 per hour provided all hiring requirements are met.

The Public Facilities, Buildings and Grounds Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PERSONNEL COMMITTEE in public session at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley, LA. 

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Public Facilities, Buildings and Grounds Committee and are to be presented as agenda items.  Motion carried. 

PUBLIC FACILITIES, BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE

Mr. Al Stevenson was elected chairperson of the Public Facilities, Buildings and Grounds Committee by acclamation. 

A motion was offered by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin and seconded by Mr. Alton Stevenson to instruct the Secretary-Treasurer to issue a Public Notice of Intention to Sell 3 acres of Tract E on Industrial Parkway (Crowley/Rayne Industrial Park) with incentives and to refer to the full jury for consideration. 

A motion was offered by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin and seconded by Mr. Alton Stevenson to the authorize the Secretary-Treasurer to initiate steps to develop a master plan for the use and management of soon to be vacant property resulting from completion of new correctional facility.

A motion was offered by Mr. Alton Stevenson and seconded by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin to authorize the Secretary-Treasurer to engage engineering services for the development of new industrial park.

The Public Works Roads and Bridges Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PUBLIC FACILITIES, BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE in public session at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley, LA.

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Public Works Roads and Bridges Committee and are to be presented as agenda items.  Motion carried. 

PUBLIC WORKS ROADS AND BRIDGES COMMITTEE

Mrs. Cecelia Chambers was elected chairperson of the Public Works Roads and Bridges Committee by acclamation. 

A motion was offered by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin and seconded by Mrs. Cecelia Chambers to revise agenda to include disposition of J. W. Lane. 

A motion was offered by Mrs. Cecelia Chambers and seconded by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin to include J.W. Lane and Uniform Road in the Phase III B Road Improvements based on distance to repair/grade and maintain and safety issues. 

A motion was offered by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin and seconded by Mrs. Cecelia Chambers to approve drainage projects 2007- 1 Mamou Prairie at a cost of $1225.75 and 2007-2 Riverside Road at a cost of $567.00.

A motion was offered by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin and seconded by Mrs. Cecelia Chambers to grant a waiver of permit fees for Bayou Des Cannes Water Corporation.

The Solid Waste/Environmental Control Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PUBLIC WORKS ROADS AND BRIDGES COMMITTEE in public session at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley, LA. 

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Solid Waste/Environmental Control Committee and are to be presented as agenda items.  Motion carried. 

SOLID WASTE/ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL COMMITTEE

Mr. John Humble, Sr. was elected Chairperson of the Solid Waste/Environmental Control Committee by acclamation.

A motion was offered by Mr. John Humble, Sr. and seconded by Mr. Alton Stevenson to authorize the Solid Waste Engineer to prepare bid specifications for new waste collection contract.
