THE PERSONNEL COMMITTEE of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met in public session at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley, LA.

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Personnel Committee and are to be presented as agenda items.  Motion carried

PERSONNEL COMMITTEE

Absent:  Felton Moreau

A motion was offered by Mr. Stevenson and seconded by Mrs. Chambers to amend the agenda to include Extended Leave for Joe Shreve. Motion carried.

Granting compensatory time in lieu of overtime was discussed. No action was taken.

The committee recommended granting Joe Shreve 30 days Extended Leave  

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COMMITTEE, THE CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMITTEE MEETING.
 




THE PUBLIC WORKS ROADS AND BRIDGES COMMITTEE
of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PERSONNEL COMMITTEE in public session at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley, LA.

It was motioned and duly seconded that all action items contained in this report were taken, reviewed and discussed by the Public Works/Roads and Bridges Committee and are to be presented as agenda items.  Motion carried

PUBLIC WORKS/ROAD & BRIDGE

Absent:

A motion was offered by Mrs. Chambers and seconded by Mr. Pellerin to amend the agenda to include the Road Manger’s request for new equipment. Motion carried.

A motion was offered by Mrs. Chambers and seconded by Mr. Pellerin to amend the agenda to include the Standard Mill Drainage Project.

The committee deferred the approval of the emergency work schedule to the June 19, 2007 meeting.

The Parish Engineer gave a cost estimate on widening Crown Road.

The Parish Road Manager reported on damage to new hard surfaced roads. He was asked to prepare a cost to repair damage to new hard surfaced roads and report to the jury.

The committee recommended the approval of the drainage project on Lisa Drive.

The committee recommended the approval of the drainage project on Standard Mill Road.

The committee deferred the purchase of new equipment to the full jury.

The SOLID WASTE/ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL COMMITTEE of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PUBLIC WORKS  ROADS AND BRIDGES in public session at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in the Courthouse Building, Police Jury Meeting Room, Crowley, LA

SOLID WASTE/ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL

Mr. Tim Mader, Mader Engineering made a presentation on Solid Waste Contract proposal. Suggestions were made to Mr. Mader on the proposal.

The Committee recommended that a Special Solid Waste, Environmental Control Committee Meeting be held, Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 9:00 AM.

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COMMITTEE, THE CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMITTEE MEETING.
