The Building & Grounds Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met at 6:30 P.M., on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in the Police Jury Meeting Room. Present were Mr. John Quebodeaux, Chairman, Mr. Alton Stevenson and Mr. Felton Moreau.
A motion was offered by Mr. Alton Stevenson, seconded by Mr. Felton Moreau, and carried to approve the request of the Registrar of Voters to use the Courthouse Annex building for office and storage space and to further instruct the Registrar of Voters to work with the Secretary-Treasurer and Mr. Eby Henry, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, regarding building renovations.
A motion was offered by Mr. Alton Stevenson, seconded by Mr. Felton Moreau, to instruct Mr. Fred Maraist, C & J Cleaning Services, to develop and implement a daily log sheet for use by his personnel. Mr. Maraist is to appear before the Committee at it’s next meeting scheduled for September 2, 2008.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COMMITTEE, THE CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMITTEE MEETING.

A motion was offered by Mr. Cade Benoit, seconded by Mr. Kermit Richard, to accept the highest bidder on Items 2, 3, 4, 5 & 7 and to reject the bids on Items 1, 6 and to rebid Items 1, and 8.
A motion was offered by Mr. Cade Benoit, seconded by Mr. Kermit Richard, to declare as surplus and advertise for the sale of a 1998 Chevrolet Pickup Truck.
