The
Building & Grounds Committee
of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met following the Airport Advisory Committee
on
Tuesday, June 4, 2009, in the Police Jury Meeting Room.
Present were Messrs. John Quebodeaux, Alton Stevenson and Felton Moreau.
A motion was
offered by Mr. Alton Stevenson, seconded by Mr. Felton Moreau,
authorizing the President, the Director of Homeland Security and
Emergency Preparedness and the Building & Grounds Committee members
to initiate a formal study of the plan for a Cooperative Endeavor
Contract between the American Legion Hospital and the Acadia Parish
Police Jury regarding the construction of a new health unit near the
hospital.
A motion was offered by Mr. Alton Stevenson,
seconded by Mr. Felton Moreau, authorizing Mr. Nelson Sonnier to
remove the telephone booth from the second floor of the Courthouse.

Legislative Committee
of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met following
the Building & Grounds Committee on
Tuesday, June 4, 2009, in the Police
Jury Meeting Room. Present were Messrs.
Terry L. Lacombe, John Quebodeaux,
and Thomas Sonnier.
A motion was offered by Mr. John Quebodeaux, seconded by Mr. Thomas
Sonnier, recommending the Police Jury
formally adopt an ordinance amending
Ordinance #923 to include certain sections
of Chapter One of the International
Building Code and the International
Residential Code.
A motion was
offered by Mr. John Quebodeaux, seconded by Mr. Thomas
Sonnier, to allow Mr. Terry Francis and Mr.
Harold J. Prevost et al, an additional
60 days to comply with the ordinance
regarding the removal of an abandoned
truck at 6827 Standard Mill Road.

of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met following the
Road & Bridge Committee on
Tuesday, June 4, 2009, in the Police Jury Meeting
Room. Present were Messrs. Felton Moreau and Thomas Sonnier.
Absent: Mr. Cade Benoit.
A
motion was offered by Mr. Thomas Sonnier, seconded by Mr. Felton Moreau,
authorizing the President and
Secretary-Treasurer to sign and execute an
Audit Compliance Questionnaire
with Broussard, Poché, Lewis & Breaux
regarding the 2008 year end
audit.
A
motion was offered by Mr. Thomas Sonnier, seconded by Mr. Felton Moreau,
to authorize the final payment
of $23,500.00 to Lewing Construction Company
for the Acadia Parish Jail
Construction Project.
A
motion was offered by Mr. Thomas Sonnier, seconded by Mr. Felton Moreau,
to accept the bids for
materials, supplies, etc., as presented by the
Purchasing Agent Melinda Leger.
A motion
was offered by Mr. Thomas Sonnier, seconded by Mr. Felton Moreau,
to accept the recommendations of the
Security Committee to hire a full-time
deputy to work at the Courthouse at
an annual cost of approximately
$45,000.00.
