The
Airport Advisory Committee
of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met at 6:30 o’clock PM on
Tuesday, March 3, 2009, in the Police Jury Meeting room.
Present were Lewis Broussard, Kermit Richard, Thomas Sonnier, Cade
Benoit, Austin Cormier and Dr. Ed. Moody, II. Absent was Felton
Moreau.
A motion was
offered by Mr. Kermit Richard, seconded by Dr. Ed Moody, II, to
authorize the Police Jury Secretary-Treasurer and Attorney to
develop Request for Proposals (RFP) for the leasing of hay rights at
LeGros Memorial Airport.
Dr. Ed Moody, II,
will request a ruling from the Ethics Board regarding his
appointment to the Committee. Dr. Moody leases a hangar from the
Police Jury at the Airport.
A motion was
offered by Mr. Kermit Richard, seconded by Mr. Thomas Sonnier, that
the Parish Attorney draft a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Tim
Baker regarding the construction of a hangar at the Airport. The
motion would also authorize the President to sign the Memorandum of
Understanding and subsequently a lease so long as the final lease is
under the same terms and conditions as Dr. Ed Moody's current lease.
The leasing of
property to Scott Schumacher was discussed and the members
instructed the Secretary-Treasurer to contact the Airports in the
area to see what they are currently charging under their lease.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE
THE COMMITTEE, THE CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT
REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMITTEE MEETING.
