The Airport Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, in the Police Jury Meeting Room. Present were Messrs. Cade Benoit, Chairman, Kermit Richard, and Felton Moreau.

Mr. E. Saunders Alpaugh with Alpaugh Supply LLC addressed the Committee members and answered questions regarding the placement of an aviation fuel tank at LeGros Memorial Airport.

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COMMITTEE, THE CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMITTEE MEETING.

The Building and Grounds Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met following the Airport Committee Wednesday, June 2, 2010, in the Police Jury Meeting Room. Present were Messrs. John Quebodeaux, Chairman, and Felton Moreau. Absent was Alton Stevenson.

Judge Kristian Earles addressed the Committee members regarding the establishment of additional security for the Courthouse. He indicated that it would be very helpful if signs would be placed at the entrances to the Courthouse advising individuals entering the Courthouse that they would be subject to search at any time. He also discussed standard operating procedures at the Courthouse, the use of video cameras in the Courthouse in the third floor hall, and the possibility of placing equipment such as metal detectors at the south entrance of the Courthouse.

A motion was offered by Mr. Felton Moreau, seconded by Mr. John Quebodeaux, authorizing Mr. Lee Hebert to meet with Judge Earles to come up with a plan and cost estimates for additional security at the Courthouse.

The Legislative Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury scheduled to meet following the Building and Grounds Committee Wednesday, June 2, 2010, in the Police Jury Meeting Room was cancelled.

The Road and Bridge Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met following the Legislative Committee Wednesday, June 2, 2010, in the Police Jury Meeting Room. Present were Messrs. Cade Benoit, Chairman, Felton Moreau, and Kermit Richard.

The Committee discussed possible purchase of a roller or hot mix lay down machine. There was no action taken.

A motion was offered by Mr. Kermit Richard, seconded by Mr. Felton Moreau, that the Police Jury conduct a Public Hearing regarding the abandonment of St. Albans Loop.

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COMMITTEE, THE CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMITTEE MEETING.

The Finance Committee of the Acadia Parish Police Jury met following the Road and Bridge Committee on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, in the Police Jury Meeting Room. Present were Messrs. Cade Benoit, Chairman, and Felton Moreau. Thomas Sonnier was absent.

A motion was offered by Mr. Felton Moreau, seconded by Mr. Cade Benoit, that the Police Jury accept the low bids as recommended by the Administrative staff for the purchase of materials and supplies and for the Official Journal.

A motion was offered by Mr. Felton Moreau, seconded by Mr. Cade Benoit, that the Police Jury authorize the President to sign a contract extension with D & J Enterprises for vegetative and C & D debris removal.

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COMMITTEE, THE CHAIRMAN ADJOURNED THE MEETING UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMITTEE MEETING.
