After hours and Weekends: Animal Control responds only to animal
bites and vicious dog calls.

Animal Control Officer
Animal Control houses and cares
for all animals picked up within the parish, including animals that
are dropped off by the public.
Acadia Parish Animal Control Officers respond to all complaints
called in the office. Most calls are for stray dogs and cats. When responding to a call an Animal Control Officer must
enforce the Parish Ordinance.
Acadia Parish Animal Control Officers also investigates animal
cruelty issues citations for persons who continuously ignores the
Parish Ordinances. Animal Control Officers also handle all animal
bites occurring within the Parish of Acadia. A complete report with
pictures are put on file of each and every animal bite.

- Keep all strays off the streets
- Try to find homes for the animals

- Serving Mermentau, Morse, Iota, Church Point and Midland

Fees
- Adoption - All expenses occurred on animal
- Impoundment - $20.00
- Kennel Fees - $15.00 per day
Fees are made payable to Acadia Parish Police Jury by check or
money order.
