    Responsibilities                

                                  

Respond to all compliant calls                  ( Rabies and Animal Control Ordinance)

Enforce Parish Ordinance*                                 

Respond to all dog and cat bites**                     (Dangerous Dog Ordinance)

Keep all strays off the streets                            

Try to find homes for the animals                            

Most important PUBLIC SAFETY           

 

* Acadia Parish Animal Control Officers also investigates animal cruelty and issues citations for persons who continuously ignores the Parish Ordinances. 

 

**  A complete report with pictures are put on file of each and every animal bite.

Fees                                 Our Shelter Has To Offer!

                   

 

Adoption -  All expenses occurred on animal. 

Impoundment -  $20.00                     

Kennel Fees -  $15.00 per day

 

Fees are made payable to Acadia Parish Police Jury by check or money order.
