DUTIES AND FUNCTION OF PARISH ROAD MANAGER:
Plan, organize,
supervise, and inspect the work of a large number of personnel,
including road crews and district managers who are engaged in road,
bridge, drainage, right-of-way, and other public works and
maintenance including pothole patching, grading
of gravel roads,
road signs, and herbicide application.
Review and oversee
the work of district managers and advise on
p
olicies, procedures,
practices, and problems of unusual nature.
Confer with property
owners, contractors, and the general public relative to complaints
and requests.
Instruct personnel
and district managers in safety procedures with quarterly safety
meetings. Compile cost estimates of materials (aggregate,
bridge lumber, etc.). Prepare budget and budget requests for
the department.
Inspect construction
work and recommend acceptance or rejection of projects.
