The
Acadia Parish Planning Commission met in a regular session Tuesday,
September 18, 2001 at 4:30 P.M. in the Police Jury Meeting Room,
third floor, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana.

Leonard Spears, Chairman, called the meeting to order.
The agenda was revised to review St. Augustine Church Subdivision
for preliminary drawing phase.
A motion was offered by Florette Bergeron and seconded by Betty
Pousson to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the meeting
held on August 21, 2001. Motion carried.
Mr. David Guillory, Secretary/Treasurer and Manager of Arnold LeDoux
Farms, has road problems in the development of making it a
Subdivision. Mr. Guillory asked the commission for help so that he
can be in compliance. Mr. Karl Aucoin, Engineer, spoke about the
steps that will need to be taken. Mr. Aucoin further commented to
the commission that the roads are bad and suggests that any roads
that look like they are going to fail needs to be removed and
patched. Motioned by Charles Andrus and seconded by Betty Pousson to
have Karl go out on the site with an appointed review engineer to
show him what he wants to do with the roads and make sure he concurs
with it. An amendment to the motion was made by Florette Bergeron
and seconded by Charles Andrus to appoint Tim Mader, Mader-Miers
Engineering, to be the reviewing engineer. Mr. Aucoin is to have the
preliminary plat ready for the next meeting date. Motion carried.
The final approval of North Egan Place Subdivision (LIMCO) was put
off until a 60 foot Right-of-Way was made. Motioned by Charles
Andrus and seconded by Betty Pousson. Motion carried.
Mr. Karl Aucoin, Engineer, spoke on behalf of St. Augustine Church
Subdivision. No fees were submitted yet to make the preliminary
drawings. Mr. Aucoin spoke to Mr. Danny Andrus about the fees and
that he will mail the Police Jury Office the amount of $121.00
covering the fees. Motion by Thomas Sonnier and seconded by Betty
Pousson that final approval will be granted pending construction of
the ditches as shown on the preliminary drawing. Motion carried.
Newman Thibodeaux attended the meeting in the interest of filling
Mr. Thomas Freeland’s resignation. Mr. Thibodeaux does not want to
make a final decision at this time. Betty Pousson suggested the
commission write Mr. Freeland a letter of thanks for serving the
planning commission.
The next meeting was scheduled for October 16, 2001 at 4:30pm.
Motion by John E. Hains and seconded by Charles Andrus to adjourn
the meeting due to no further business. Motion carried.
