The
Acadia Parish Planning Commission met in regular session Tuesday,
April 30, 2002 at 4:30 p.m. in the Police Jury Meeting Room, third
floor, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana.

Chairman, Leonard Spears called the meeting to order.
The agenda was revised unanimously to include the request submitted
by Becky Ardoin.
It was moved by Florette Bergeron and seconded by Betty Pousson to
approve the minutes of December 4, 2001. Motion carried.
Karl Aucoin, Engineer for the Commission, presented comments on
Dermas Mouton Subdivision. Motion was offered by John Hains and
seconded by Betty Pousson to approve the Preliminary Construction
Drawings for Dermas Mouton Phase II contingent upon soil cement and
soil determinations prior to base stabilization. Motion carried.
Engineer, Ron Sarver, requested a postponement on the review of
Belmont Estate until the next meeting.
A motion was offered by Charles Andrus and seconded by Florette
Bergeron to approve the preliminary plat submitted by CADO
Incorporated of the development located on Quail Hollow Road owned
by Mr. Merlin Leger. Motion carried.
Karl Aucoin noted the need to include culvert sizes and the location
of existing water lines on the drawings.
The Commission President made reference to correspondence received
from Tim Mader, Parish review engineer, regarding the street
conditions located in the area developed by Arnold LeDoux Farms.
Karl Aucoin, engineer for the owners, explained the current status
of the corrective proceedings indicating the delay in determining
final subdivision boundaries. He also noted that the existing roads
needed serious repairs.
Becky Audoin requested permission to divide a 1.33 acres lot located
in Bosco Heights Subdivisioninto two parts. Because the regulations
govern the re-subdivision of property, it became a matter for the
commission.
Motion was offered by Thomas Sonnier, seconded by Betty Pousson to
approve the request to divide Lot Twenty-Eight (Lot 28) of Bosco
Heights Subdivision provided the following conditions are met:
‒ the lot is divided into two equal portions establishing equal or
nearly
equal front footages,
‒ that the owners be informed that the division may still be
affected by
local restrictive covenants or legal conditions,
‒ that this approval shall be null and void should the existing
owners not
agree to the division.
Motion carried.
John E. Hains announced his resignation from the Acadia Parish
Planning Commission effective next regular meeting.
The next meeting was scheduled for May 21, 2002 at 4:30 p.m.
Due to no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
