The Acadia Parish Planning Commission met in regular session Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at 4:30 p.m. in the Police Jury Meeting Room, third floor, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana.

Chairman Leonard Spears called the meeting to order.

A motion was offered by Betty Pousson and seconded by Florette Bergeron to approve the minutes of the July 16, 2002 meeting. Motion carried.

Mr. Spears welcomed Mr. Jason Gossen as a new member to the Planning Commission. He also afforded time to orient Mr. Gossen on current planning activities. Included in the review was the request for permits along Fire Station Lane.

There was concern for allowing permits for property owners in an unapproved area even though the roadway and drainage along the property was considered public.

A motion was offered by Charles Andrus and seconded by Betty Pousson to lift the restriction on permits along Fire Station Lane. Motion Carried.

No discussion was held regarding the plan for R.V. development in West Acadia Parish.

Engineer Karl Aucoin presented the final inspection report on Quarter Pole Estates. He indicated that the final subdivision plat along with copies of the as-built drawings and testing reports were submitted for review. The deficiencies noted during the inspection were discussed in detail. They included problems with cross drains, siltation, water retention, waste water discharge notes and as built plans for water lines.

A motion was offered by Thomas Sonnier and seconded by Florette Bergeron to deny the request for conditional approval of Quarter Pole Estates and reconsider same at the next scheduled meeting and also request copies of cement delivery tickets from the roadway construction. Motion Carried

Karl Aucoin, Engineer for the Ledoux Subdivision advised that the preliminary plans for the Ledoux Subdivision will be modified to include additional lots and reported the owners were negotiating for additional right of way for the new street. No action was required.

The next meeting was scheduled for September 17, 2002 at 4:30 p.m.

Due to no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
