The
Acadia Parish Planning Commission met in regular session Tuesday,
July 16, 2002 at 4:30 p.m. in the Police Jury Meeting Room, third
floor, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana.
Members present:
Leonard Spears, Chairman
Charles Andrus
Florette Bergeron
Rose Breaux
Betty Pousson
Thomas Sonnier
Members absent:
Andrew Bellard
Martin Guillory, Jr.
A motion was offered by Betty Pousson and seconded by Florette
Bergeron to approve the minutes of the May 21, 2002 meeting. Motion
carried.
The commission considered the Preliminary Plat submitted by Aucoin
and Associates for the Ledoux Subdivision, Phase I situated in
Sections Thirty-Seven and Forty-Eight Township Seven South, Range
One West and Section Fifty-Nine, Township Seven South, Range One
East. The firm of Mader-Miers Engineering represented the commission
during the review process and found the following to be significant:
‒ Legal issues should be considered by legal counsel.
‒ Written approval from lot owners to be included in development.
‒ Assurance that proposed streets and drainage fit within the
proposed street right-of-way.
‒ Easements and easement agreements for all existing utilities
should be clarified and/or provided.
‒ 10 foot utility easements should be provided on the side of each
street where existing utilities are presently located.
‒ The “Unopened” street should be designated as a private servitude
or constructed as part of phase I.
‒ 20 foot drainage easement for future maintenance along existing
Bayou Mallet channel should be provided where possible
A motion was offered by Charles Andrus seconded by Thomas Sonnier to
approve the Preliminary Plat for Ledoux Subdivision subject to the
material conditions set forth in the correspondence from Mader-Miers
dated July 16, 2002. Motion carried.
A motion was offered by Charles Andrus and seconded by Florette
Bergeron to lift the building permit restrictions for Ledoux
Subdivision Phase I per original preliminary plat of survey by
Aucoin and Associates and notify the Health Department of such
action.
Lifting the restriction on additional phases would be considered by
the commission at a later date.
Recording secretary reported on the progress of right-of-way
acquisitions along Fire Station Lane. He indicated only two lots
remained.
The following officers were elected by acclamation to serve for the
upcoming year.
