The Acadia Parish Planning Commission met in regular session Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at 4:30 p.m. in the Police Jury Meeting Room, third floor, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana.

The agenda was revised to include a permit request on Fire Station Lane.

A motion was offered by John Hains and seconded by Florette Bergeron to approve the minutes of April 30, 2002 meeting. Motion carried.

The commission considered the preliminary drawings and final plans and specifications for Quarter Pole Estates owned by Martin Zaunbrecher, Jr. situated in Section Twenty- Four (24), Township Nine (9) South, Range Two (2) East, Acadia Parish, Louisiana. Parish Engineer, Karl Aucoin, offered the following comments:

a. buildings and utilities were not shown
b. need for covenants
c. letter from utility companies
d. evidence of preliminary plat filed with waterworks district
e. suggested waste waster be discharged to the street
f. needed soil cement and lime determination
g. $504 fees due

Motion offered by Thomas Sonnier seconded by Betty Pousson to approve the preliminary drawings and final plans and specifications for Quarter Pole Estate subject to payment of fees and construction prohibitions. Motion carried.

The commission then considered the preliminary drawings and final plans and specifications for Belmont Estates owned by Glenn and Shawn Gilbert situated in Section Twenty-Four (24), Township Nine (9) South, Range Two (2) East, Acadia Parish, Louisiana. The Parish Engineer, Karl Aucoin, offered the following comments:

a. water system was submitted for review
b. the waste water collection system was removed from the plans
c. driveway culvert permits were needed
d. 12 inch cover over cross drains needed
e. waste water drains need to be in the street
f. ditches need to be on edge of servitude for maintenance purposes
g. $520 fees due
h. health department approval was pending

Motion was offered by John Hains seconded by Betty Pousson to approve the preliminary drawings and finals plans and specifications for Belmont Estates. Motion carried.

The request to consider permits associated with the rental of a lot on Fire Station Lane was considered.

Motion was offered by John Hains seconded by Florette Bergeron to defer action on the request to approve the permits on Fire Station Lane until next the meeting and authorize notice to all interested parties. Motion carried.

The next meeting was scheduled for June 25, 2002 at 4:30 p.m.

Due to no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
