The Acadia Parish Planning Commission met in regular session Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at 4:30 p.m. in the Police Jury Meeting Room, third floor, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana.

Chairman Leonard Spears called the meeting to order.

Florette Bergeron announce that her resignation will be affective when school starts in September.

A motion was offered by Betty Pousson and seconded by Thomas Sonnier to approve the minutes of the January 21, 2003 and May 20, 2003 regular meetings. Motion carried.

Legal Counsel, Andre’ Doguet suggested that owners of Phase II Dermas Mouton Subdivision obtain waivers from all adjacent lot owners who are also part of Phase I prior to any special use of the property. Doguet indicated he would prepare the document.

Chairman Spears reminded members of the requirements placed on Ms. Enola Jagneaux to comply with a modified version of the regulations. She submitted a plat containing all lots in the tract of land she owned. Legal Counsel suggested the Commission require that Mr. Andrew Jagneaux also comply with respect to the property developed and sold along or in the vicinity of Edmonia Drive and Mary Rosa Lane.

It was moved and seconded that Mr. Andrew Jagneaux be required to submit a plat of the lots either sold or plan to be sold by him developed along or in the vicinity of Edmonia Drive and Mary Rosa Lane and advise that permits should not be issued until Commission grants approval. Motion Carried.

Representatives of the Communications District and Building Permit office asked for clarification on specific property issues such as family transfers. It was stated by the Chairman and presented by the Engineer that exceptions only apply to the exchange of ownership to heirs in a succession.

Karl Aucoin presented a request to alter lot sizes in the Arnold Ledoux Subdivision in order to save some of the existing trees. In order to do this the total number of lots would change from 41 to 39.

A motion was offered by Charles Andrus and seconded by Thomas Sonnier to approve the request to reduce the total number of lots planned for Ledoux Subdivision from 41 to 39. Motion Carried.

The Chairman announced the resignation of Ms. Rose Breaux as member of the Commission.

The next meeting was scheduled for July 15, 2003 at 4:30 p.m.

Election of officers will be considered at the July meeting.

Due to no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
