Chairman Jason Gossen called the meeting to order.
A motion was offered by Betty Pousson and seconded by Randall Boutte
to approve the minutes of the February 17, 2004 regular meeting.
Motion carried.
A request to consider whether a development by Margaret Hopson would
be in violation of the subdivision regulations was discussed. It was
noted that all lots in the development were three acres or larger
and would not need to be reviewed. No action was required.
Mr. Michael Breaux commented on the proposed Ransom development. He
indicated that all of the lots have been sold and that drainage
would not be an issue to adjacent lots. The Parish Engineer
suggested that he obtain a copy of the regulations and request
waivers for anything he could not comply with.
A motion was offered by Betty Pousson and seconded by Thomas Sonnier
to make available a copy of the Parish Subdivision Regulations to
Mr. Breaux in order to assist in planning the Ransom Development and
address requests for waivers at a future meeting. Motion carried.
A motion was offered by Betty Pousson and seconded by Joey Savoie to
allow permits to be issued to Mr. Joshua Rogers provided he sign a
hold-harmless statement indicating his awareness that the Ransom
subdivision had not been approved. Motion carried. Mr. Andrus voted
against the motion.
The Secretary was instructed to include on the next meeting agenda
the subject of preventing unapproved developments.
The next meeting was scheduled for April 20, 2004 at 4:30 p.m.
Due to no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
