The Acadia Parish Planning Commission met in regular session Tuesday September 21, 2004 at 4:30 p.m. in the Police Jury Meeting Room, third floor, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana.

Chairman Jason Gossen called the meeting to order.

A motion was offered by Betty Pousson and seconded by Randall Boutte to approve the minutes of the August 17, 2004 regular meeting. Motion carried.

David Bertrand presented his initial plan for a mobile home park to be located on Standard Mill Road, west of LA HWY 35. The park will consist of 12 lots. The Parish Engineer made initial comments that included the following:

    ‒   Section, township and range must be included on the drawing.
    ‒   Owner ID to be included.
    ‒   Show existing home on property.
    ‒   Ditches not shown.
    ‒   Name of adjacent property owners.
    ‒   Cul-de-sac crossing onto lots.
    ‒   Water lines not shown.
    ‒   Additional standards are to be met.
    ‒   Letter from Health Dept. and Water Corp.

A motion was offered by Charles Andrus and seconded by Mary Richard to require an checklist of items be prepared by the Parish Engineer and presented to the developer of the Bertrand Mobile Home Park. Motion Carried

A public hearing will be scheduled for Bertrand Mobile Home Park when the drawings are prepared.

Karen Franzel, property owner near the proposed mobile home park on Standard Mill Road, pointed out the existence of three pipelines crossing the development. Several individuals expressed concern about the proposal.

Mr. Marty Welch responded to the letter advising him of the decision of the Board relative to violations of the Subdivision Ordinance. He requested additional time to present information.

A motion was offered by Randall Boutte and seconded by Betty Pousson to grant Mr. Marty Welch an additional 30 days to respond to the request for a proposal to address matters related to the development of property along Lovell Rd. Motion carried.

The next meeting was scheduled for October 19, 2004.

Due to no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
