The Acadia Parish Planning
Commission met in regular session Tuesday June 20, 2006, at 4:30
p.m. in the Police Jury Meeting Room, third floor, Courthouse
Building, Crowley, Louisiana.

Chairman Gossen called the meeting to order and the Secretary
called roll.
A motion was offered by Charles Andrus and seconded by Thomas
Sonnier to approve the minutes of the meeting held May 16, 2006.
Motion carried.
A written request submitted by David Bertrand to relinquish his
proposal for a trailer park at 6611 Standard Mill Road, Rayne, LA
was considered by the Commission. Chairman Gossen explained the
request in detail. Mr. Bertrand was informed that the existing home
would not be grandfathered in and would be counted as a lot in the
development. Mr. Bertrand was granted conditioned approval for a
mobile home park (David’s Mobile Home Estates) consisting of 12 lots
in Section 34, T 9 S - R 2 E, Acadia Parish, LA in January of 2005.
A motion was offered by Charles Andrus and seconded by Blaine
Faulk to approve the request by David Bertrand to rescind the
approval given for David’s Mobile Home Estates located on Standard
Mill Road, Rayne. Motion carried.
A motion was offered by Charles Andrus and seconded by Joey
Savoie to deny a request by David Bertrand to grandfather an
existing home situated on a lot located at 6611 Standard Mill Road,
Rayne, such that it would not be counted in any future development.
Motion carried.
The next meeting was scheduled for July 18, 2006.
Due to no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
