The Acadia Parish
Planning Commission met in regular session Tuesday
May 16, 2006, at 4:30 p.m. in the Police Jury Meeting Room, third
floor,
Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana.

Chairman Gossen called the meeting to order and the Secretary
called
roll.
A motion was offered by Joey Savoie and seconded by Catherine
Lacombe
to approve the minutes of the meeting held April 18, 2006 as
amended.
Motion carried.
Darrell and Andrea Simon presented a preliminary plan to add
three
additional rent trailers adjacent to three existing trailers and
requested a waiver to the regulations. The park is located on
Northern Avenue, Crowley. Mr. Andrus suggested a plat be prepared
noting that the request does not conform to the rules.
A motion was offered by Charles Andrus and seconded by Randall
Boutte
to require Mr. Darrell Simon to submit plans as provided for in the
Parish Subdivision Ordinance to be reviewed by the Parish Engineer
and approved
by the Commission prior to expanding the mobile home park on
Northern Avenue, Crowley. Motion carried.
Mr. Ron Sarver discussed proposed changes to White Oak
Subdivision Phase
I. It was noted that Phase I was previously approved and that
current lot owners should be made aware of any new changes. Changes
discussed was for lot 3 to become part of lot 3(a) from Phase II
along with a 0.87 acre 60
ft. wide strip as access. Additional drawings would be required.
A written complaint was submitted relative to David’s Mobile Home
Estates. Mr. David Bertrand advised that he purchased a trailer and
placed it on one
of the lots but did not have it hooked up. Chairman Gossen reminded
Bertrand that it was the Commission’s responsibility to see that the
guidelines are met or no permits would be issued. Of concern were
the setback requirements, driveway completion and drainage. Mr.
Bertrand was advised to complete the improvements prior to setting
up units.
A motion was offered by Mr. Charles Andrus and seconded by Mary
Richard
to require mobile homes to be properly placed on lots in David’s
Mobile Home Estates and all improvements set forth in the
Subdivision Ordinance be adhered to prior to the issuance of
building permits. Motion carried.
The next meeting was scheduled for June 20, 2006
