Motion carried.
A motion was made by Mr. Blane Faulk, seconded
by Mr. Charles Andrus, to accept the minutes of the June 29, 2007
meeting of the Acadia Parish Planning Commission. Motion carried.
Mr. George Melancon addressed the Commission
concerning property he has off of Coin Rd. He has sold some lot and
would like to sell another tract. He advised that he sold four lots
and a small portion of property for drainage for an existing
subdivision. They have community water there and have access for
electricity. The lot he would like to sell now is on the private
portion of Coin Rd.
Mr. Robert Bergeaux, Acadia Parish Police Jury
Road Supervisor, advised that Coin Rd—the parish road stops where
the racetrack ends.
The Chairman advised Mr. Melancon that he would
have to follow subdivision regulations for the property on Coin Rd.
Mr. & Mrs. Edward Prejean presented the plat
for Windy Subdivision off of Meche Rd & Speech Rd. Tract A & Tract
B show on plat as two separate 1 acre tracts but were sold by Mr. &
Mrs. Prejean as one 2 acre tract, as per the paperwork of the sale.
Carl Aucoin, Acadia Parish Police Jury
Engineer, advised the Prejeans of the following:
1-That the plat should show joint owners
(husband/wife) of Tract A & B and not as individual owners. Tracts
A & B should also be included in the subdivision boundaries.
2-The plat should not show intent for public
use.
3-Telephone lines on the plat do not have a
servitude. The plat should show a servitude for this.
4-Letters showing the methods of water supply
and wastewater disposal are acceptable to health authority. Also a
letter from the water department showing they will have access to
public water facility.
5-Signature Block is needed on Plat
6-There should also be a dedication for
improvement for public servitude on property off of Speech St.
Since one lot has been sold in this area, the owners should sign off
of agreement to this.
7-A complete list of adjacent landowners needs
to be included.
A motion was made by Mr. Charles Andrus,
seconded by Mr. Randall Boutte, rejecting the plat of Windy
Subdivision. Motion Carried.
The Chairman informed the Prejeans that once
they complete Mr. Carl Aucoin’s suggestions, they can bring the plat
back to the Planning Commission for approval.
On a motion made by Mr. Joey Savoie, seconded
by Mr. Charles Andrus, the meeting was adjourned. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned.
