The Acadia Parish Planning Commission met in regular session on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 4:30 p.m. in the Acadia Parish Police Jury Meeting Room, third floor, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana with the Chairman, Jason Gossen, presiding.

Guests:  A J Broussard-Acadia Parish Police Jury President and David P. Hidalgo-sitting in for Carl Aucoin-Parish Engineer. 

On a motion by Mr. Faulk, seconded by Ms. Lacombe, the Commission approved the revision of the Agenda to include the Begnard Estates Subdivision as Item #6b.  Motion carried. 

A motion was made by Mr. Faulk, seconded by Mr. Andrus, to accept the minutes of the October 23, 2007 Special Meeting.  Motion carried. 

The Preliminary and Final Plats for the Louise Meche, Et Al property was discussed.  Mr. Ryan Hebert, surveyor, advised that originally the property was partitioned in lots among heirs.  After selling one (1) lot, the property owners decided to include the original four (4) lots in the subdivision.  Mr. Lasage, owner of Lot 2c has signed off on easement for this original lot that was sold.  Mr. Hebert advised the Commission that there is no plan for the construction of a road, but if there is to be any further development a road would have to be developed. 

Mr. Hildalgo advised that a letter from the water corporation and one from the Health Unit concerning the sewer system was needed. 

A motion was made by Mr. Faulk, seconded by Mr. Hebert, authorizing the acceptance of the Preliminary and Final Plats for the Louise Meche, Et Al property pending the receipt of letters from the water corporation and the Acadia Parish Sanitarian, and the proper fees.  Motion Carried.

Discussion concerning the final plat for the Windy Subdivision was held.  Mr. Hildalgo advised the Commission that the Prejeans have changed the utility easement to the northern boundary of Tract I and Tract H.  He also advised that all other comments from previous reviews have been addressed.  Mr. Hildalgo recommends final approval for the Windy Subdivision. 

A Motion by Mr. Andrus, seconded by Mr. Savoie, approving the final plat for the Windy Subdivision.  Motion Carried. 

Discussion concerning the Begnaud Estates Subdivision.  Mr. Hildalgo advised the Commission of the following comments on subdivision:  Utilities are not shown on the map.  There shows no utilities on the subdivision lots but there is an easement if needed.  The utilities are provided from across the street but are not shown but should be.  No provision for drainage.   

Mr. Gossen advised the Commission that he spoke to the owner of the property who could not be in attendance due to I-10 closure, but advised that he would meet all requirements. 

A motion was made by Mr. Hebert, seconded by Ms. LaCombe, approval of the final plat upon all Engineer’s review comments being met for the Begnaud Estates Subdivision.  Motion Carried. 

A motion to adjourn until the next regularly scheduled meeting on December 18, 2007 was made by Mr. Faulk and seconded by Mr. Andrus.  Motion Carried.
