the Police Jury Meeting Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley,
Louisiana, in regular session with the President, Claude Courville,
presiding. At the request of the President, a moment of silence was

A Resolution approving
the holding of an election in Acadia
St. Landry Hospital
Service District of the Parishes of
Acadia and St. Landry,
State of Louisiana, on Saturday,
April 6, 2002, to
authorize the levy of a special tax therein.
WHEREAS, the Board of
Commissioners of Acadia-St. Landry Hospital Service District of the
Parishes of Acadia and St. Landry, State of Louisiana (the
“Governing Authority”), acting as the governing authority of
Acadia-St. Landry Hospital Service District of the Parishes of
Acadia and St. Landry, State of Louisiana (the “District”), is
scheduled to adopt a resolution on January 17, 2002, calling a
special election in the District on Saturday, April 6, 2002, to
authorize the levy of a special tax therein; and
WHEREAS, the governing
authority of the District has requested that this Police Jury acting
as the governing authority of the Parish of Acadia, State of
Louisiana, give its consent and authority for the District to hold
the aforesaid election, and in the event that the election carries
to levy and collect the special tax provided for therein; and
WHEREAS, as required by
Article VI, Section 15 of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana
of 1974, it is now the desire of this Police Jury to approve the
holding of said election and in the event that the election carries,
to levy and collect the special tax provided for therein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the Police Jury of the Parish of Acadia, State of Louisiana,
acting as the governing authority of said Parish, that:
SECTION 1. In compliance with
the provisions of Article VI, Section 15 of the constitution of the
State of Louisiana of 1974, and in accordance with the request of
the Board of Commissioners of Acadia-St. Landry Hospital Service
District of the Parishes of Acadia and St. Landry, State of
Louisiana, this Police Jury hereby approves the holding of an
election in the District, on Saturday, April 6, 2002, at which

offered), which shall cover the privilege of deferring drilling
operations for a period of one (1) year. Upon like payments
annually, drilling operations may be further deferred for successive
periods of one (1) year each during the primary term. The primary

Acadia Parish Police Jury for the full amount of the cash bonus

RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE
The following resolution was offered by Mrs. Cecelia Broussard, duly
seconded by Mr. Pat Daigle, and duly resolved and adopted on January
16, 2002.
A resolution authorizing and directing the President to execute for
and on behalf of the Acadia Parish Police Jury, an Act of Acceptance
for Stan Gall, Inc., Contractor, pertaining to the completion of the
contract, weatherization to the Courthouse Building, Crowley, LA, in
accordance with the plans and specifications contained in the
contract documents pertaining thereto.
WHEREAS, Stan Gall, Inc., as
Contractor, has completed the weatherization to the Courthouse
Building, Crowley, LA, in accordance with the plans and
specifications contained in the contract documents pertaining
thereto; and
WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish
Police Jury desires to accept the completed work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the Acadia Parish Police Jury that the President of said Acadia
Parish Police Jury be, and is hereby empowered, authorized and
directed to execute an Act of Acceptance for and on behalf of the

review right-of-way documents for the Federal Off-System Bridge
Replacement Program. Motion carried.
Parish Engineer Karl Aucoin reviewed the plans and possible dates
for the upcoming asphalt patching project. Work should begin within
90 days.
A motion was offered by Mrs. Cecelia Broussard, seconded by Mr. John
Beard, to approve the Emergency Work Report for the month of
December, 2001. Said expenditures to be in the amount of $161.55.

A motion was offered by Mr. John Humble, Sr., seconded by Mr. Pat
Daigle, to approve special conditions and allow the open cut method
for the installation of an irrigation pipeline across Benton Road.
Motion carried.
A motion was offered by Mrs. Catherine LaCombe, seconded by Mrs.
Cecelia Broussard, to approve special conditions and allow the open
cut method for the installation of an irrigation pipeline across Fox
Trot Road. Motion carried.
The subject of signage for permitted activities was referred to Road
& Bridge Committee for detailed discussion.
A motion was offered by Mr. John Humble, Sr., seconded by Mr. Pat
Daigle, to authorize an expenditure from Equipment Reserve Fund for
the purchase of front-end backhoe attachments estimated to cost
$1,000.00. Motion carried.

BE IT RESOLVED: by the Acadia
Parish Police Jury in regular session duly convened this 16th day of
January, 2002, does hereby empower, authorize & direct the President
to execute Change Order No. 1 to the UV Protection Project at the
Acadia Parish Landfill and decrease the amount by One Thousand Six
Hundred Thirty-two and 00/100 ($1,632.00) Dollars with Red Fern,
Inc., for an adjusted contract price of Forty-four Thousand Nine
Hundred Seventy-six and 20/100 ($44,976.20) Dollars.

RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE
The following resolution was offered by Mrs. Catherine LaCombe, duly
seconded by Mr. Pat Daigle, and duly resolved and adopted on January
16, 2002.
A resolution authorizing and directing the President to execute for
and on behalf of the Acadia Parish Police Jury, an Act of Acceptance
for Red Fern, Inc., Contractor, pertaining to the completion of the
contract, installation of UV Protection on South Slope of Phase II
(East) Acadia Parish Sanitary Landfill, Egan, LA, in accordance with
the plans and specifications contained in the contract documents
pertaining thereto.
WHEREAS, Red Fern, Inc., as
Contractor, has completed the installation of UV Protection on South
Slope of Phase II (East) Acadia Parish Sanitary Landfill, Egan, LA,
in accordance with the plans and specifications contained in the
contract documents pertaining thereto; and
WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish
Police Jury desires to accept the completed work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the Acadia Parish Police Jury that the President of said Acadia
Parish Police Jury be, and is hereby empowered, authorized and
directed to execute an Act of Acceptance for and on behalf of the
Acadia Parish Police Jury accepting the work as being completed, and
that he be authorized and directed to have a copy of said acceptance
recorded in the Conveyance Records of the Parish of Acadia, State of
Louisiana.

The Sales Tax Report was presented for the month of December, 2001.
The report indicated a gross receipt of $405,624.80, an increase of
$133,120.11 from December, 2000.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE MEETING,
THE MOTION WAS OFFERED DULY SECONDED, THAT THE MEETING ADJOURN UNTIL
THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING OF FEBRUARY 5, 2002, AT THE
