THE ACADIA PARISH POLICE JURY met on the above date at 6:30 p.m., in
the Police Jury Meeting Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley,
Louisiana, in regular session with the President, Cecelia Broussard,
presiding. At the request of the President, a moment of silence was
offered and the Pledge to the Flag was recited in unison. The roll
was called and final attendance was recorded as follows:

A motion was offered by Mr. Jimmie Pellerin, seconded by Mr. John
Humble, Sr., to approve the Minutes of the September 16, 2005,
Special Meeting and the September 20, 2005, Regular Police Jury
Meeting. Motion carried.

RESOLUTION
BY MESSRS: JOHN HUMBLE SR AND A J CREDEUR
WHEREAS, proposals were
received for professional services for the LCDBG 2006-2007 Grant
Year, and
WHEREAS, Mader Engineering
submitted a proposal to provide engineering and grant consulting
services for sewer improvements, and
WHEREAS, Aucoin & Associates
submitted a proposal to provide engineering and grant consulting
services for fire protection.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by
the Acadia Parish Police Jury in regular session duly convened on
this the 4th day of October, 2005, does hereby approve the services
of Mader Engineering for consulting and engineering for LCDBG sewer
applications and further approve the services of Aucoin & Associates
for consulting and engineering for LCDBG fire applications.

A motion was offered by Mr. Felton Moreau, seconded by Mr. Jimmie
Pellerin, to approve holiday pay for September 23 and September 26,
2005, as a result of Hurricane Rita for Parish employees. Motion
carried.
PUBLIC SAFETY
RESOLUTION
BY MESSRS: A J CREDEUR AND CADE BENOIT
BE IT RESOLVED: by the Acadia
Parish Police Jury in regular session duly convened this 4th day of
October, 2005, does hereby empower, authorize and direct the
President to execute Contract Addendum No. 1 to the Debris Removal
Contract with D & J Enterprises providing for a change in unit price
for the removal of hurricane debris and the inclusive of
municipalities as part of the contract.

A motion was offered by Mr. A. J. Credeur, seconded by Mr. Jimmie
Pellerin, to approve the necessary expenditures to conduct emergency
cleanup and hurricane relief activities as a result of Hurricane
Rita and further authorize the Secretary to make the necessary
budget amendments to accomplish same. Motion carried.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Mr. Ronald Castille, member of a local drainage district, thanked
the members of the Jury and the Secretary for their efforts in
successfully passing legislation protecting the local drainage
districts from frivolous law suits.
The President announced that she and the Vice President attended a
press conference with the Governor of Louisiana to discuss Hurricane
Relief.
The President also thanked members of staff and volunteers for their
efforts immediately following the storm.
Juror Felton Moreau inquired about the mosquito abatement plan
ongoing.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE MEETING,
THE MOTION WAS OFFERED DULY SECONDED, THAT THE MEETING ADJOURN UNTIL
THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING OF OCTOBER 18, 2005, AT THE
