LADIES & GENTLEMEN:
Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting
of the Acadia Parish Police Jury will be held in the Police Jury
Meeting Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana, at 6:30 p.m.,
on Tuesday, July 31, 2001, to discuss the following item:
AGENDA:
1. Consider request to lease 78,000 square foot manufacturing
facility in
the Crowley/Rayne Industrial Park.

We, the undersigned members of the Acadia Parish Police Jury, do
hereby accept such service of the foregoing notice, waiving any and
all irregularities in such service and such notice and consent and
agree that said Police Jury of Acadia shall meet at the time and
place named therein and for the purpose therein stated.

A motion was offered and duly seconded to revise the agenda to
consider the following items: the hiring of a Multipurpose Facility
Manager and to consider Finance Committee recommendations for
funding of economic development activities. The following roll call
vote was cast: Yeas: Alton Stevenson, Catherine LaCombe, Cecelia
Broussard, Jimmie Pellerin, John Beard, Pat Daigle and Claude
Courville. Motion carried.
Legal Counsel André Doguet reviewed the proposed offers to lease the
78,000 square ft. manufacturing facility located in the
Crowley/Rayne Industrial Park submitted by Intertape Polymer d/b/a
Cajun Bag and Commercial Laundry/Single Source Supply.
RESOLUTION
BY: MRS CATHERINE LACOMBE AND MR ALTON STEVENSON
BE IT RESOLVED: by the Acadia
Parish Police Jury in regular session duly convened this 31st day of
July, 2001, does hereby empower, authorize & direct the President to
execute a 27 month lease agreement with an additional one (1) year
option with Intertape Polymer Corporation d/b/a Cajun Bag under the
amended terms and conditions set forth and presented herein.

PRESIDENT
Mr. Jeff Bouillion, Chairman of the Acadia Multipurpose Facility
Committee, requested the Jury authorize the President to execute an
agreement with JoAnn Reeves for the Management of the Multipurpose
Facility.

BE IT RESOLVED: by the Acadia
Parish Police Jury in regular session duly convened this 31st day of
July, 2001, does hereby empower, authorize & direct the President to
execute on behalf of the Parish a Management Agreement with JoAnn
Reeves to operate the Multipurpose Facility.

A motion was offered by Mrs. Cecelia Broussard, seconded by Mr. Pat
Daigle, to authorize the funding in the amount of $40,000 to the
Acadia Economic Development Corporation for fiscal year 2001. Motion
carried.
A motion was offered by Mrs. Cecelia Broussard, seconded by Mr.
Alton Stevenson, to reconsider additional funding for I-Acadia at a
later date. Motion carried.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE MEETING,
THE MOTION WAS OFFERED AND DULY SECONDED, THAT THE MEETING ADJOURN
UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING OF AUGUST 7, 2001, AT THE
