SPECIAL MEETING OF OCTOBER 12, 2004

LADIES & GENTLEMEN:

Notice is hereby given that a
Special Meeting of the Acadia Parish Police Jury will be held in the Police Jury Meeting Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana, at 6:30 P.M., on Tuesday, October 12, 2004, to consider the following items:

AGENDA:

     1. Adopting the adjusted millage rates for the tax year 2004;
     2. Adopt the adjusted millage rates after Reassessment and roll
         forward the millage rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum
         millage for the tax year 2004.

We, the undersigned members of the Acadia Parish Police Jury, do hereby accept such service of the foregoing notice, waiving any and all irregularities in such service and such notice and consent and agree that said Police Jury of Acadia shall meet at the time and place named therein and for the purpose therein stated.

It was announced by the President that notice had been given that the Acadia Parish Police Jury would hold a public forum on Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at 6:30 P.M., Police Jury Meeting Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana, to hear any comments concerning the reassessment and revaluation of property within the said district, relative to the adoption of Ad Valorem Millages.

No comments were received. The President declared the public hearing adjourned.

                                     
RESOLUTION

                 BY MESSRS: A J BROUSSARD AND A J CREDEUR

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Acadia Parish Police Jury that after a public hearing held on the 12th day of October, 2004, and conducted in accordance with the Open Meeting Law, the following adjusted millage rates, be and they are hereby levied upon the dollars of the assessed valuation of the property subject to ad valorem taxation within the boundaries of the Acadia Parish Police Jury for the year 2004 for the purpose of raising revenue, to wit:

General Alimony                            4.17 mills
Health Unit                                   2.08 mills
Road & Bridges                              3.12 mills
Library                                         4.17 mills
Cooperative Extension                     2.08 mills

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing Resolution was read in full, the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the Resolution was adopted by the following votes:

YEAS: Alton Stevenson, A. J. Broussard, John Humble, Sr., Cecelia
          Broussard, Jimmie Pellerin, A. J. Credeur, Cade Benoit and Felton
          Moreau.

NAYS: None.

ABSENT: None.

ADOPTED: OCTOBER 12, 2004

RESOLUTION

             BY MESSRS: JIMMIE PELLERIN AND A J BROUSSARD

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Acadia Parish Police Jury that after a public hearing held on the 12th day of October, 2004, and conducted in accordance with the Open Meeting Law, they do hereby increase the millage rates, not in excess of the prior’s year’s (2003) maximum millage rates on all property subject to taxation, shown on the official assessment roll for the year 2004, and when collected, the revenues from said taxes shall be used only for the specific purposes for which said taxes have been levied, said millage rates are as follows:
