Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Acadia Parish Police Jury will be held in the Police Jury Meeting Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana, at 4:30 P.M., on Tuesday October 24, 2006 to consider the following item(s).
AGENDA:1. Consider declaring November 7, 2006 (Election Day) as a holiday.
2. Consider Regular meeting schedule.

This 23rd day of October 2006We, the undersigned members of the Acadia Parish Police Jury, do hereby accept such service of the foregoing notice, waiving any and all irregularities in such service and consent and agree that said Police Jury of Acadia Parish shall meet at the time and place named therein and for the purpose therein stated:

WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish Police Jury, by Resolution, may authorize
the observance of holidays as it may deem in keeping with efficient administration.THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Acadia Parish Police Jury in
special session duly convened on this the 24th day of October 2006, does hereby authorize the observance of Tuesday November 7, 2006, a legal holiday.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Acadia Parish Police Jury authorizes the closing of the Acadia Parish Courthouse and/or various offices, presently under its direct supervision to observe this holiday.

WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish Police Jury, by Resolution, may authorize the observance of holidays as it may deem in keeping with efficient administration, and
WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish Police Jury has declared Tuesday, November 7, 2006, a legal holiday.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Acadia Parish Police Jury in special session duly convened on this the 24th day of October does hereby cancel the regularly scheduled November 7, 2006 meeting Acadia Parish Police Jury.

A motion was offered by Mr. John Humble, Sr. and duly seconded by Mr. Alton Stevenson to call a Special Meeting of the Acadia Parish Police Jury for November 8, 2006. Motion carried.THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE MEETING, THE MOTION WAS OFFERED AND DULY SECONDED, THAT THE MEETING ADJOURN UNTIL THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING OF NOVEMBER 21, 2006.
