SPECIAL MEETING OF JUNE 13, 2007
CROWLEY, LOUISIANA
The Acadia Parish Police Jury met on the above date at 7:00 p.m., in
the Police Jury Meeting Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley,
Louisiana, in regular session with the Vice-President, Cade Benoit,
presiding. At the request of the Vice-President, a moment of silence
was offered and the Pledge to the Flag was recited in unison.
The
following resolution was offered by Madam Cecelia Chambers, and
seconded by Mr. A. J. Credeur, and duly resolved and adopted.
RESOLUTION 06-07-13
to
adopt millage rates for tax year 2007
BE IT RESOLVED: by the Acadia Parish
Police Jury in special session duly convened this 13th day of June,
2007, that the following millage(s) are hereby levied on the 2007
tax roll on all property subject to taxation by the Acadia Parish
Police Jury:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper administrative
officials of the Parish of Acadia, State of Louisiana, be and they
are hereby empowered, authorized, and directed to spread said taxes,
as hereinabove set forth, upon the assessment roll of said Parish
for the year 2007, and to make the collection of the taxes imposed
for and on behalf of the taxing authority, according to law, and
that the tax herein levied shall become a permanent lien and
privilege on all the property subject to taxation as herein set
forth, and the collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner
provided by law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing Resolution was read
in full, the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the
Resolution was adopted by the following votes:

RESOLUTION 06-07-14
BY MADAM CECELIA B. CHAMBERS AND MESSER A. J.
CREDEUR
WHEREAS, citizens of the Parish of Acadia have expressed their
concern over the installation of an facility for adjudicated
juveniles within the corporate boundaries of said Parish; and
WHEREAS, members of the Branch Community
have petitioned the members of the Acadia Parish Police Jury to
discourage the establishment of such facility in Acadia Parish;
BE IT RESOLVED: that the Acadia Parish
Police Jury in special session duly convened this 13th day of June,
2007, does hereby voice its opposition to the establishment of an
adjudicated juvenile facility within the corporate limits of Parish
of Acadia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: a letter of
opposition to said facility shall be forwarded to the Louisiana
Office of Youth Development and Louisiana Department of Public
Safety and Corrections.
