Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the
Acadia Parish Police Jury will be held in the Police Jury Meeting
Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana, at 4:45 P.M., on,
Tuesday, November 6, 2007, to consider the following items:
AGENDA:
1. Approve the issuance, sale and delivery of $130,000 of
Certificates of Indebtedness, Series 2007B, of Fire Protection
District No. 10 of the Parish of Acadia, State of Louisiana.
2. Declare November 12, 2007, (Veteran’s Day Observance) as a
Holiday.
3. Authorize advertising for the position of
Secretary-Treasurer as
approved by the Personnel Committee.

We, the undersigned members of the Acadia Parish Police Jury, do
hereby accept such service of the foregoing notice, waiving any and
all irregularities in such service and such notice and consent and
agree that said Police Jury of Acadia shall meet at the time and
place named therein and for the purpose therein stated.

The following resolution was offered by Mrs.
Cecelia Chambers, seconded Mr. Cade Benoit:
RESOLUTION
A resolution approving the issuance, sale and delivery of One
Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($130,000) of Certificates of
Indebtedness, Series 2007B, of Fire Protection District No. 10
of the Parish of Acadia, State of Louisiana, and other matters
relating thereto.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Fire Protection District
No. 10 of the Parish of Acadia, State of Louisiana, by resolution
adopted on October 10, 2007, has authorized the issuance of One
Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($130,000) of Certificates of
Indebtedness, Series 2007B (the "Certificates"), for the purpose of
acquiring and equipping a fire truck, and paying the costs of
issuance of the Certificates, under the authority conferred by
Section 1430 of Title 39 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950,
as amended, and other applicable constitutional and statutory
authority.
WHEREAS, it is now the desire of the Police Jury of the Parish of
Acadia, State of Louisiana, to approve the issuance of the
Certificates;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Police Jury of the Parish
of Acadia, State of Louisiana (the "Police Jury"), acting as the
governing authority of the Parish of Acadia, State of Louisiana,
that:
SECTION 1. In compliance with the provisions of Article VI,
Section 15 of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana of 1974,
and in accordance with the request of the Board of Commissioners of
Fire Protection District No. 10 of the Parish of Acadia, State of
Louisiana, this Police Jury hereby approves the issuance of One
Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($130,000) of Certificates of
Indebtedness, Series 2007B, of Fire Protection District No. 10 of
the Parish of Acadia, State of Louisiana, said Certificates to be
issued under the authority and for the purposes stated in the
preamble hereto.
SECTION 2. Neither the Parish nor this Police Jury shall be
liable in any manner for the payment of said Certificates.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the
vote thereon was as follows:

ACADIA PARISH POLICE JURY ACADIA PARISH POLICE JURY
RESOLUTION
BY: JIMMIE PELLERIN AND CECELIA CHAMBERS
WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish Police Jury, by Resolution, may
authorize the observance of holidays as it may deem in keeping with
efficient administration.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Acadia Parish Police Jury in
regular session duly convened on this the 6th day of November, 2007,
does hereby authorize the observance of Monday, November 12, 2007, a
legal holiday.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Acadia Parish Police Jury
authorizes the closing of the Acadia Parish Courthouse and/or
various offices, presently under its direct supervision to observe
this holiday.
