GENTLEMEN:
Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting
of the Acadia Parish Police Jury will be held in the Police Jury
Meeting Room, Courthouse Building, Crowley, Louisiana, at 6:30 P.M.,
on, Tuesday, October 7, 2008, to consider the following item:
AGENDA:
1. To
authorize the sale of property in the Crowley/Rayne
Industrial Park to Drilling Solutions, LLC.
2. Consider the offer
from Stanford Truck Line to purchase
property in the Crowley/Rayne Industrial Park.
3. Resolution authorizing
the President to sign a Memorandum of
Understanding Agreement with the Governor’s Office of
Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness "GOHSEP"
regarding Hurricane Gustav.
4. Resolution authorizing
the President to sign a Memorandum of
Understanding with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security
and Emergency Preparedness "GOHSEP" regarding Hurricane
Ike.
5. Resolution authorizing
Designation of Depository for Direct
Deposit of a Non-Interest Bearing Checking Account for the
LCDBG Disaster Recovery Program.
6. Resolution authorizing
four employees to sign a request for
payment form for the LCDBG Disaster Recovery Program.
7. Resolution authorizing
the President to sign and submit a
Financial Management Questionnaire for the LCDBG Disaster
Recovery Program.
8. To authorize the
President to sign and submit all necessary
documents in connection with the LCDBG Disaster Recovery
Program.

We, the undersigned members of the Acadia Parish Police Jury, do
hereby accept such service of the foregoing notice, waiving any and
all irregularities in such service and such notice and consent and
agree that said Police Jury of Acadia shall meet at the time and
place named therein and for the purpose therein stated.

Representative Jack Montoucet advised the Jurors
that the Police Jury will be receiving an additional $450,000 from
HUD though the Louisiana Recovery Authority Disaster Recovery
Program. This is in addition to the $181,000 already approved for
the Parish.
RESOLUTION
BY MESSRS: JOHN QUEBODEAUX AND KERMIT RICHARD
WHEREAS, a request was made by Drilling
Solutions, LLC, to locate industry in the Crowley/Rayne Industrial
Park, and
WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish Police Jury
recognizes the value of creating new jobs for the benefit of
Economic Development, and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Acadia
Parish Police Jury to provide incentives to promote economic growth
in Acadia Parish, and
WHEREAS, the Police Jury gave notice of
intent to sell property in its Legal Journal.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Acadia
Parish Police Jury in special session duly convened on this the 7th
day of October, 2008, does hereby authorize the sale of
approximately 5.707 acres of Industrial Park property to Mr. Burton
Zaunbrecher of Drilling Solutions, LLC, in the amount of $5,000.00
per acre.

Jury in special session duly convened this 7th day of October, 2008,
does hereby authorize the Secretary to publish Notice of Intent to
sell 4.065 acres of Industrial Park property to Stanford Truck Line
at a cost of $14,000.00.

The following resolution was offered by Mr. Cade
Benoit, seconded by Mr. Thomas Sonnier and unanimously carried:
RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SEPARATE,
NON-INTEREST BEARING CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR THE
LOUISIANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish Police Jury has
been awarded a Fiscal Year 2008 Louisiana Community Development
Block Grant for public safety improvements; and
WHEREAS, said funds from the State shall be
deposited directly in a financial institution of the Police Jury’s
choosing as they are requested, and
WHEREAS, the Police Jury must establish a
separate bank account for the Louisiana Community Development Block
Grant funds.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Acadia
Parish Police Jury in special session duly convened on this the 7th
day of October, 2008, does hereby authorize the Honorable A. J.
Credeur, President to execute the appropriate Designation of
Depository Form as required by the Division of Administration for a
separate non-interest bearing checking account at the Bank of
Commerce, Crowley, Louisiana.
